About the House

The living room is modern and comfortable

Everyone who has rented the cottage loves the fact that it’s a short 1-minute walk to the beach! But the lake house has more than just convenience to offer. Lovingly renovated, with brand new furniture and appliances, the cottage is a great place for you and your family to relax. You might just be tempted to stay indoors!

No. of bedrooms: 4 (sleeps 8 comfortably, and maximum 10)

No. of bathrooms: 1 full bathroom  + 1 powder room with toilet and sink

Nearness to beach: 1 minute walk

Amenities: Wi-Fi, , flatscreen TV, cable, centralized Air Conditioning, DVD library, board game collection, gas stove, airconditioning, full kitchen (extras include coffee maker, toaster, pancake grill), washer and drier, gas barbecue, fire pit.

The cottage is located in Suissevale, a development in Moultonborough, on the north shore of Lake Winnipesaukee. What all of our guests most love about the cottage is its nearness to the lake itself. Only 162 steps away, you can leave your car at home and just stroll down!

The house has two floors. There are three bedrooms downstairs, a sitting room and a bathroom with sink and toilet. Upstairs, you find the master bedroom.  That’s also where you find the living room, dining room, kitchen, screen porch, sun porch and full bathroom. Everything is newly renovated.  New furniture, new paint, new floors downstairs.  Everything redone to make it feel like the first day it was opened.  Most of the furniture comes from Ethan Allen.  That’s another thing that our guests love about the house–we’re always being told how beautifully kept it is (which makes us very proud of our lake cottage!)

The Neighborhood

Suissevale is a quiet subdivision in Moultonborough.  Houses are spaced apart and very private.  My cottage in particular is surrounded by trees in all directions.  For residents and guests, there are many things to do.  A full private beach just steps away.  Two boat launches. Two playgrounds.  One on the beach, the other at the clubhouse.  Two tennis courts.  Barbeque and picnic tables behind the beach.  And so much to do in the surrounding area.

The History

I bought the cottage about four years ago.  Living abroad for the last seven years, I was hoping to find a place close to family where we could gather on my short trips back.  A Family Reunion point.  The Lake seemed like a natural spot.  My Aunt Sandy has been an owner in Suissevale for more than 10 years and loves it.  She can also help with visitors like you.  Most of the rest of the family live up in Berlin or down in Manchester, New Hampshire.  I was born over in Keene.  Moultonborough was perfect.  We looked at a lot of houses.  It came down to two…this one or a new one a mile off the Lake.  I wanted the new one, but 3 important women (my 2 aunts and my mother) told me close to the lake was better.  It was large enough for everyone.  It was well maintained.  It was very close to the Lake.  Finally, it was a good price. So I bought it.  Since then, I’ve changed almost all the furniture.  High-quality Ethan Allen furniture all around.  We painted the entire place inside and out.  There are all new decorations everywhere.  It feels like a new home.  But it maintains that cottage feel.  I’m very proud of it and think the ladies made the right choice.  Special thanks to Aunt Sandy for driving all the renovation.

The Flumes

The Area

I’ve created a website especially for people staying at the cottage.  It’s called NHHoliday.com.  It’s a blog with news about things to do, see and eat on the northside of Lake Winnipesaukee.  Even if you don’t stay at the cabin, NHHoliday.com might be helpful.  We have tons of restaurant reviews.  Almost everywhere you would want to go.

Do you have a dishwasher and clothes washer & dryer in the cottage? Is there a minimum age? My grandchildren are 3 and 5.

Responded before by email, but also wanted to respond here.

There is a clothes washer and dryer in the back of the kitchen. There is no dishwasher. It’s an older place and it was not standard back them. I will consider adding one in the future.

There is no minimum age. It’s great for kids. They love the bunk beds. They also love how close it is to the beach and playground.

      Thanks for the inquiry.
      Brian
